# Understanding Native vs Broadcast Residential IPs

**Native Residential IP** and **Broadcast Residential IP** are both static residential IPs, but they differ mainly in how the IP is sourced and how it appears to websites:

**Native Residential IP**

* Assigned directly by a real residential ISP to a single household.
* Typically shows a clear, one-to-one ISP and ASN mapping.
* Higher trust level and better acceptance on strict platforms (e.g. e-commerce, social media, payment systems).
* More limited supply and usually higher cost.
* In most cases, the ISP cannot be freely chosen and depends on availability.

**Broadcast Residential IP**

* Residential IPs distributed via ISP broadcast or large residential network segments.
* Still identified as residential by major IP databases.
* Very stable and cost-effective for most use cases.
* Slightly lower “purity” than native residential, but works well for the vast majority of scenarios such as scraping, account management, and automation.
* ISP selection is generally not supported; the ISP is assigned automatically.

**About choosing an ISP**

* For **static residential IPs**, ISP selection is usually **not available**, because IPs come from fixed residential allocations.
* What you *can* choose is the **country / region**, and the IP will remain the same for the full validity period.
